Who We Are
The Art of Embodying was founded in 2023 by Penelope, an artist originally from Austria and now based in the UK.
After studying dance in London and working professionally as a freelance dancer, Penelope became intimately familiar with what it means to navigate life inside a beautiful, wild city and how easy it is to lose yourself within its pace, expectations, and invisible boundaries and pressures. She realised that thriving in such environments requires a different kind of practice: one that supports staying connected to your own energy while gently rebelling against the one-size-fits-all structures of this world.
“The Art of Embodying grew out of my experience as a dancer living and working in a big city. I was often told that people couldn’t quite see me in my movement. For a long time, I sensed there was much more inside me than what was visible as if my energy stayed contained while the city around me demanded constant adaptation.
Living in an environment driven by speed, ambition, and performance made me aware of how quickly we can move away from our own inner rhythm. From early on, I noticed how deeply we are shaped by the structures we are born into: how to behave, how to perform, how to succeed. Over time, these layers can pull us away from our own system, from how we naturally make decisions, hold pressure, move through life, and create.
Having discovered Human Design at the age of eleven and later spending over a decade working as a professional dancer, I developed a deep curiosity and understanding for how energy moves through us (especially in high-pressure, high-stimulation environments like big cities). My work has been an ongoing exploration of how to stay rooted in myself while expanding my energetic field beyond what the eye can see.I want to lead from instinct and take responsibility for my energy, my worth, and my values, to consciously choose the structures that shape my life, my work, and my choices, rather than being shaped by them.”
We know what it means to float between worlds, the deeply intuitive, spiritual one, and the tangible, fast-paced reality of life in the metropolitan. That’s why our approach to Human Design and embodiment is anything but airy-fairy. It’s grounded, creative, and rooted in real life. It is about bringing energy down to earth, into the body, into daily rhythms, and into the way we move through work, relationships, and the city itself.
“I believe in a quiet rebellion against the one-size-fits-all world. In unlearning the noise of the city, society, and imposed structures, living from alignment becomes an act of resistance and a return to trust in our own rythm.”
